Childhood in Can
From Digg: When asked to estimate the value of the cosmic jewel, Ronald Winston, chief executive officer (CEO) of Harry Winston, Inc., indicated that such a large diamond probably would depress the value of the market, stating, “Who knows? It may be a self-deflating prophecy because there is so much of it.”
I hate diamonds. There is nothing good about the diamond industry. It’s oppressive, monopolistic, and it places an unrealistic value on a silly little rock. It’s marketed to the degree that if you don’t spend $10,000 for a ring when you get married you’re socially scorned for not showing that you “really love” your significant other. It’s like the natural representation of all that I hate about materialistic society.
Alright. got that out of my system. But it’s awesome that it’s a giant diamond in space!

Cautious Nerdiness
So I practiced some self control and didn’t buy and iPhone the day it came out. I’m waiting to see what happens. New features, bug fixes, etc. Besides, my current phone
works just fine for me right now. I was curious to see which of my favorite nerd friends had gotten one. I sent out a roll call mass text message that just said, “Ok, who got an iphone
Here are some of the responses I got:
Jim C: Not me wife woudn’t allow it
Adam O: They only stock ibuttplug at the sf store
Chris M: not mayor street
So, no one got it. Even my friend Jorj didn’t get one, but didn’t expect him too. I’d expect him to just build his own. but his friend did and I got to play with one for a few minutes. It’s cool. I’ll get one. Eventually.
